Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding from the Government which is provided to schools with the aim of specifically supporting pupils from lower income families to ensure these pupils benefit from the same opportunities as all other children.  There are three categories of children that qualify for Pupil Premium:

  • Children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
  • Children who are ‘Looked After’
  • Armed Forces children

An amount of money is provided to the school for each child, and the school decides how best to use this to secure additional provision which most benefits individual pupils.  This could be one-to-one support with reading at set times each day, or support with uniform, or learning an instrument.

If you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium Funding, please contact us on 01525 402377.  All enquiries are treated confidentially.
