“We didn’t realise we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun” (A.A. Milne)
It is a privilege to take the hand of a young child and imagine for them a future filled with the joy of learning. It is also a great responsibility, because we know that children need to feel safe, secure, confident and happy in order to learn and achieve their full potential.
That’s why our school designs its curriculum to stimulate and support our pupils from 3-9 years:
- Our Values-based ethos underpins everything we do and gives children and staff a vocabulary to follow which builds positive behaviours (e.g. respect and patience);
- Our curriculum is designed to stimulate and challenge, with enrichments and outdoor experiences woven into it (e.g. forest school activities, living eggs, inter-school sporting tournaments, music experiences);
- We work closely with parents and carers, providing parenting advice and support, as well as offering opportunities for them to come into school (e.g. Christmas in school, music concerts and Values Days);
- We recognise the importance of securing emotional well being and positive mental health in all our pupils, and we build in opportunities for all pupils to learn about a range of feelings, so that they are better equipped to manage their emotions and behaviours positively.
We are very proud of our school and we hope you will come and visit us!
