Dear Applicant,
Thank you for taking the time to look at our vacancy and find out a little more about Thomas Johnson Lower School.
We are a small school with a big heart, set in the lovely village of Lidlington. At Thomas Johnson, we believe schools should be places where children feel happy, safe, inspired and excited to learn – and where staff feel valued, supported and proud to work. We are incredibly proud of our school, our children and our team, and we are looking for someone who shares our belief that education can change lives.
We are currently looking to appoint two class teachers – one in EYFS and one in Key Stage 2 – to join our team from September 2026.
We are looking for an exceptional EYFS teacher who can build upon our already impressive provision and take it to the next level.
We are also looking for a talented and knowledgeable KS2 teacher who can build upon the learning children have already secured in KS1.
We are not looking for someone who is perfect. We are looking for someone who cares. Someone who believes that every child matters, every day. Someone who wants to make learning fun, memorable and challenging. Someone who understands that relationships come first, because when children feel safe and valued, great learning follows.
At Thomas Johnson, you will find a team that works hard, laughs a lot, supports each other and always puts children at the centre of every decision. We are a village school and that means community matters here. You will get to know the children, the families and your colleagues really well, and you will become an important part of the Thomas Johnson family.
Teaching is a wonderful job, but it is also a demanding one, so we believe in looking after our staff as well as our pupils. We want our staff to enjoy coming to work, to feel supported to develop professionally and to know that what they do every day makes a difference.
If you are the kind of teacher who believes that:
…then you will probably fit right in here.
The best way to understand our school is to come and see it for yourself. You are very warmly invited to visit, look around, and get a feel for what makes Thomas Johnson such a special place to be.
We look forward to meeting you.
Kind regards,
Simon Bolger
